Godolphin have spent the past week battling Coolmore in the sale ring but it was their runners fighting between themselves in the Group 3 Dubai Autumn Stakes at Newmarket, with Military March coming out on top.

After a sustained duel with Al Suhail, Saeed bin Suroor's representative edged into the lead close home under Oisin Murphy to remain unbeaten in two starts.

"I've always liked him, he's a big, strong horse who looks like he can handle any ground," said Bin Suroor. "The plan is to run him in Group races next year."
