Midnight Gypsy enhances track record with easy qualifier success

Recent course-and-distance scorer Midnight Gypsy returned to the scene of her demolition job 15 days ago to land the mares' 2m3f handicap hurdle under 7lb conditional Alexander Thorne in equally emphatic style.

Carrying a 5lb penalty, Stuart Kittow's seven-year-old mare travelled sweetly and always looked like landing the qualifier for the challengers mares' hurdle final, eventually pulling three and three-quarter lengths clear of her closest rival Peggies Venture.

The 3-1 favourite was the subject of morning support and never gave punters a moment of doubt, kicking clear after a flying leap two out.
