Metcalfe now relying on Angel after Mecca's Missus is sold

Group 1-winning owner David Metcalfe saw his string cut by 50 per cent after Mecca's Missus scored in the seller at the Midlands track.

The juvenile was registering her second win in 17 starts in the seven-furlong contest but it was not enough for Metcalfe to hold on to her when the hammer came down at 4,200gns.

Thankfully Metcalfe's remaining bullet is Mecca's Angel, who is poised for a busy second half of the season but will be sold at the end of it, leaving the owner's cupboard bare.
