Before the abandonment, both Crowned Eagle and Secret Advisor enhanced their reputations when finishing in that order in the Sky Bet-sponsored 1m2f handicap for three-year-olds.

The Lady Bamford-owned and bred Crowned Eagle, who still has an entry in next month's Investec Derby, pulled away from his rivals in smart fashion as he put the race to bed some way from home.

With Frankie Dettori easing down on the approach to the line, Secret Advisor made up significant ground to close the winning margin to a length, although the winner was never under threat.
