McPherson gets match tactics spot on with Skipthecuddles

There were only two runners for the 3m novice chase, but the lack of competitors left trainer Graeme McPherson with a tactical dilemma when deciding how Skipthecuddles could be used to best effect.

Having pondered the tactics Kielan Woods should employ on the eight-year-old, the plan put into place worked perfectly, as Skipthecuddles gained a first win over fences by six lengths.

"It took us longer to work out how to ride the race than it actually lasted," joked McPherson.
