The grey Queen Penn kept on best to deny Godolphin's Right Direction by a neck in the feature Moody Construction Fillies' Handicap, while her jockey Paddy Mathers was crowned king on a dreary day as he showcased his skills by riding a double.

The first two in the 7f feature came clear of Summer Icon in third, with 9-2 shot Queen Penn recording just her second lifetime win.

Third over the course and distance on her previous start, the daughter of Dark Angel hadn't struck since taking a maiden at Hamilton last year. The win was a deserved one, as she has finished outside the first four just twice in 11 starts.
