With the majority of the Flat fraternity in attendance at the nearby Goffs Orby Sale, David Marnane was busy making the most of the opportunities presented to him at this additional meeting, striking with two of the stable’s lesser lights, Tennesse Waltz and Cracking Name.

Tennesse Waltz has been called a name or two but, to his credit, he dug deepest to land the mile claimer by a head under Billy Lee.

Marnane said: “We got him out of a claimer a couple of years ago and he's been very consistent. He's a grand old horse and it's good to have the claimers for the likes of these horses.
