It is funny what makes horses tick. In the case of Mango Chutney it is confidence, which is sky high, and he made it two wins on the trot when coming late to land the 7f handicap under Phillip Makin.

He is trained in County Durham by John Davies, who said: "We were getting nowhere with him last season, then he won a seller here and it transformed him and that's the third time he's won since.

"I suppose it's a confidence thing; he seemed to get it after his win. It was pretty firm when he won at Wetherby last time and I think the quicker ground does suit him, but he got away with the softish ground today."
