Maire Banrigh extends winning run to five with flawless round of jumping

With the Listed Yorkshire Silver Vase at Doncaster one of the strongest mares' chases ever run, Maire Banrigh was kept to novice company on the card and the decision was vindicated as she racked up a five-timer with an exhibition round of jumping.

Sent into the lead from the off by Harry Skelton, Maire Banrigh dictated throughout the 2m½f handicap chase, stretching clear from the third-last to score decisively by 13 lengths.

It has been quite a transformation for a mare who was well beaten on her first two starts after costing £320,000 at the sales.
