Magical served notice she will be a major force this season when easily landing the Group 3 Alleged Stakes on her first start since running the mighty Enable to three quarters of a length in the Breeders' Cup Turf in November.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained four-year-old, a Group 1 winner over a mile and a half last year, strode clear under Ryan Moore to win the 1m2f event by four and a half lengths from stablemate Flag Of Honour, last year's Irish St Leger winner.

The winner will have a number of options, including the Prix Ganay and the Tattersalls Gold Cup, with O'Brien indicating she would probably have a mid-season break before being trained for another autumn campaign.
