Lyons has another top juvenile as Straight Answer bolts up in Blenheim
Those questioning whether Straight Answer was top class or not following his debut success received an emphatic reply in the Ballyhane Blenheim Stakes as he made all to land the Listed event by five and a half lengths.
A winner of a Curragh maiden last month, the son of Kodiac was asked for an effort by Colin Keane after rounding the final bend and the acceleration was instant, with the runner-up Glengarra never able to land any blow on the 2-1 favourite.
With Sacred Bridge set to contest the Cheveley Park Stakes on Saturday – the race in which Ger Lyons celebrated his first Group 1 win with Lightening Pearl in 2011 – the trainer now looks to have two of Ireland's most exciting juveniles in his care.
Straight Answer provided a double for Lyons and champion jockey Keane, who moved on to 114 winners for the campaign – just a dozen shy of Joseph O'Brien's record of 126 in a single season, with the best part of six weeks left to go.
Dream delivers
As expected, Keane notched the first leg of his double following 1-4 favourite Recurrent Dream's easy victory in the opening 7f claimer.
Keane kept things simple on the 89-rated juvenile, who did not have to come out of third gear to see off Arch Enemy by three lengths.
