It is a long way from Tipperary to Leicester - ten hours according to Des Donovan, and he should know as he now lives there. Having trained in Newmarket for many years, the dual-purpose trainer has recently returned to his homeland but made a successful trip to Leicester with Dalaki.

The Jonathan Moore-ridden five-year-old, who survived a stewards' inquiry to land the 2m4½f conditional jockeys' selling hurdle, in turn ensured his trainer is off the cold list.
