Lincoln Trial next as Pactolus proves his worth again

Pactolus gave his connections another decent payday this winter when getting up late in the feature £19,000 handicap - and he could return to the course for a crack at a bigger prize.

Trained by Stuart Williams for son-and-mother team Tom and Julia Morley, the six-year-old won a £35,000 contest at Chelmsford in November and repeated the trick to set himself up for next month's Lincoln Trial on Tapeta.

Speaking from his Newmarket stable, Williams said: "He's better on the all-weather than the turf and we'll look to go back for the £50,000 Lincoln Trial as there's nothing really for him on all-weather finals day.
