Conor O’Farrell would have been surprised if you'd told him he would be aboard the winner of the Class 3 feature as he was not even scheduled to ride in the race until around ten minutes before the off.

Davy Russell, who was scheduled to partner Gordon Elliott's Veinard, had suffered a fall in the preceding mares’ handicap hurdle and was unable to ride as he underwent medical assessment.

That paved the way for O’Farrell to step in and save the day, and he was full of confidence after riding Camile to victory for Iain Jardine in the very race in which Russell had been hurt.
