Ladd hits the ground running with a double on return from lengthy ban

Local knowledge is always an advantage on the Fibresand at Southwell and Nottinghamshire-based Theodore Ladd used it to good effect to register a double on his return to action following a 19-day whip ban which had ruled him out since January 13.

Newmarket trainer Paul D'Arcy had his wife Sue to thank for booking Ladd, who guided three-year-old filly Dolly Dupree to her first career success in the opening 7f handicap.

Sue D'Arcy said: "If you want to have winners here it's best to have someone who knows the track very well and Theo had her in the right place at the right time."
