It seems the key to success with Fabricate is simple – just give Adam Kirby the leg up and let the pair go to work.

The Michael Bell-trained gelding had been winless in five starts since scoring under Kirby at Haydock in May, with five different jockeys having had a go since.

Reunited with the four-year-old, Kirby did the trick again, driving Fabricate to the front inside the final furlong and holding off Passover, just a short head away in second having momentarily looked the winner.
