Kings Lad is back in business after three years in the wilderness, and a hat-trick must be on the cards after he followed up his recent Exeter win with a gutsy defeat of Antony in the feature 3m2f handicap chase.

The trip was an unknown for the 11-year-old, whose Exeter win had been over just 2m3f, but he got it well.

He needed to, since Antony put in a persistent challenge and made him pull out all of the stops to win by half a length in a finish which showed rising stars Harry Cobden and James Bowen to great advantage.
