Kimberlite Candy win another sweet success for unstoppable Lacey

Graded races at Aintree or ordinary handicaps in south Wales – they all come alike to in-form trainer Tom Lacey as he struck with Kimberlite Candy, who bravely added to Thomas Patrick’s victory on Merseyside.

After duelling all the way up the home straight with runner-up Cucklington, the Niall Madden-partnered six-year-old found extra reserves when the chips were down over the final couple of fences and eventually drew ten lengths clear by the winning post.

Lacey is not a trainer who goes out of his way to court publicity and prefers to let his horses do the talking, which has certainly been the case this campaign as he is on course for easily his best season with a licence.
