Kensington Art looks a picture with wide-margin success at 12th time of asking

Not many horses win Flat handicaps by 16 lengths but that was the case with Kensington Art when the Paul Hanagan-partnered three-year-old easily put daylight between himself and his rivals in the 1m6f handicap at Catterick.

The rider admitted he was surprised by how far his mount had won and he told Racing TV: "It was his 12th attempt and when I looked around I must admit I got a bit of a shock to see the horse was so far clear.

"He’s been a little frustrating but he got a nice gallop today and that has helped. He will probably go up the handicap a bit, but we have had to wait quite a long time for him to finally go and do it on the course."
