Kendred Soul beaten at 1.01 as Ben Curtis leaves it late for Catterick double

If there is an art to leaving it late, Ben Curtis has certainly mastered it as the jockey produced two runs from the clouds to land a dramatic double at Catterick.

The Hugo Palmer-trained 10-11 favourite Incinerator looked in trouble throughout under Curtis before he got organised in the closing stages and collared front-runner Kendred Soul in the final few strides of the 6f maiden, winning by a head. The runner-up was matched at 1.01 on Betfair for £6,282.

Incinerator's win might have been expected, but the victory of the David Evans-trained Laughter Lounge was seemingly not at 25-1 in the 7f selling stakes.
