Ken Condon studied accountancy but the numbers just did not add up. He had been tempted by thoroughbreds.

That decision to walk out of an office and into a stable was spectacularly rewarded on a sunny Saturday afternoon on the Curragh when his first winner of the year came in a Classic.

When you see reporters rushing over to a trainer to try to shake his hand in the aftermath of a big race it tells you all you need to know. Condon is a gentleman in every sense of the word. One of the good guys.
