Gay Kelleway will shortly send part of her Newmarket operation to France but showed she can still cut the mustard on this side of the channel when Robero ran out a decisive winner of the opening 7f handicap.

The 5-1 chance had the perfect draw in stall one but missed the break, forcing him to come through a few rivals before going away to defeat Thechildren'strust in tidy fashion.

Robero was backing up after a decent third at the track last month when obliging under 7lb claimer Toby Eley, who was registering his first win at the track.
