Kanturk Bank wins for the Coltherds ahead of big day at Cheltenham
The biggest race of their lives is just around the corner for Stuart and Sam Coltherd and the father-and-son team approach Cheltenham week in good form, with Kanturk Bank putting in a fine round of jumping to win the 2m5f novice handicap chase.
The Coltherds are set to run Captain Redbeard in the Close Brothers Novices' Handicap Chase on Tuesday, and Sam said after dismounting the seven-year-old: "If Captain Redbeard can jump like that next week, we'll be doing alright."
It was a first run over fences on his second start for the yard for point winner Kanturk Bank, who made the rest of the running after early leader Ryalex fell heavily at the first.
