He left it late but it was worth the wait. With his last runner of the May meeting local trainer Tom Dascombe finally got on the board when Kachy delivered one of the performances of the week in the LDF Conditions Stakes.

Drawn eight of eight in the 5f contest, the David Lowe-owned five-year-old blasted out of the gate, grabbed the inside rail and burned off his rivals by nine lengths in an exhilarating exhibition of speed.

Following a frustrating time at a meeting so cherished by all at Manor House Stables, Dascombe's relief was tangible as his 18th and final runner over the three days registered the elusive success.
