After her best season in 2017 Eve Johnson Houghton has made Blewbury fashionable again and showed she had the firepower to maintain the trend with Magnolia Springs' win at Listed level.

The filly, owned by Anthony and Sonia Rogers, who made a sparkling winning debut at Newbury last September was a beaten favourite in a novice event 13 days earlier but, moved up in distance, finished too strongly for Ribblesdale entry Shaherezada, stretching to a two and three quarter length success under Charlie Bishop.

"She forgot how to run and had to relearn how to race properly," said Johnson Houghton. "It all came too easy first time out.
