John Butler hoping new training regime can help rejuvenated returning winner

Thursday: Lingfield

Trainer John Butler has admitted he will use a "different training regime" for Ivasecret, who won the 7f handicap under Silvestre de Sousa.

The four-year-old was having his first start since finishing third over the course and distance in November. He'd had a mixed campaign last year which yielded just one win at this track, and Butler is determined to make changes in order to progress.

"He is a horse that has always worked well, but he has been a little bit disappointing," he said. "We started off with an easy option, so hopefully it gives him the confidence to step up in trip."

"Last year we did it a little bit wrong and ran him on quick ground, so we will have a different training regime this year so we can freshen him up between races," added Butler.

"At the moment, the grass is too quick all over the country and if you want a horse to last for the season then the last thing you want to do is upset their stride pattern this early."

Treble for Doyle

James Doyle completed a treble on the card, with Eight Of Diamonds for Sean Woods kickstarting the day in the 1m4f handicap.

The second triumph was confirmed shortly after as Court Of Session justified favouritism when scoring in the 1m handicap, and Doyle's hat-trick was completed when the Archie Watson-trained Archiano secured a winning debut in the 6f novice stakes.

Impressive winner

Frankel colt March Moon produced an exciting performance to land the 1m4f novice stakes by seven and a half lengths for John and Thady Gosden.
