Sweeney stood down and referred to BHA after failing two breath tests

Fergus Sweeney became the latest jockey to fail a breathalyser when he was stood down from his intended ride at Bath on Monday. Sweeney was due to ride Harrison Stickle in the fifth race on the all-sprint card.

After a high first reading Sweeney had to take a second breathalyser that triggered a stewards' inquiry and his late replacement by Tom Marquand on the John Gallagher-trained sprinter who finished a well-beaten sixth.

Stipendiary steward Richard Westropp said: "The matter has been referred to the BHA in London after Sweeney took two tests.
