Jessica Harrington may have called time on the career of three-time Grade 1 winner Supasundae last week, but the colours of the late Ann and Alan Potts were carried to more big-race success when Sizing Pottsie made light work of his rivals in the 2m handicap chase.

Paddy Kennedy, who has been making merry for Harrington in the absence of Robbie Power, took a few lengths out of the field aboard Sizing Pottsie approaching the last and it was pretty much all over from that point.

Sizing Pottsie appeared to get a bit lonely out in front, but still had far too much up his sleeve for Entoucas and won well at the line.

Harrington said: “Two miles on heavy ground is just what he wants. He was very leery when he got to the front and was a bit lazy. But he did it well - he went clear very quickly and it was impressive.”

On future plans, Harrington added: “The two-mile handicap at Leopardstown over Christmas has a cap of 150, which is not ideal, so we might try to find something for him in Britain.”

Brandy cut after romp

Patrick Mullins was at his cheekiest in the fillies' bumper aboard Brandy Love, a mare whose name has an interesting origin, one of which we are likely to hear plenty more given the style of the victory.

Sold for £200,000 by Colin Bowe after winning a point first time up, the four-year-old daughter of Jet Away won by seven lengths doing a half-speed, kick-starting Michael Grech's ownership foray with champion trainer Willie Mullins.

BoyleSports cut Brandy Love to 10-1 (from 20) for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, and the winning rider said: “She’s very good and that’s what she has shown us at home. We thought she’d do that and we think she’s a proper mare. Those Jet Aways seem to be quite good – he seems to be siring plenty of winners and she will keep his name in lights.”

He added: “I’d imagine she will stay in bumpers and could go for the mares’ bumper at Leopardstown. She could be one for the spring festivals as well.

"This is Michael Grech’s first horse with us. Henrietta Knight is involved with him and it’s great to get him off to such a good start. I think she is named after a movie star!”
