Jerrysback impresses again but festival bid looks unlikely

One horse stood out on what was a run-of-the-mill midweek card, his name was Jerrysback.

The winning Irish point-to-pointer, who is now owned by JP McManus and trained for him by Philip Hobbs, was sent off at 4-11 for the novice hurdle and followed up his debut win under rules at Plumpton in similarly effortless style.

He was always cruising under Barry Geraghty who barely had to move a muscle as he breezed clear to win hard held by a length and a half.
