It's a very special achievement for Thistlecrack to win a King George on his fourth start over fences. No novice had ever won the race before. I'm just so pleased that in knowing what he is capable of he has gone and done it.
When we went down the back straight I knew Cue Card was coming at me and I was thinking, 'Here we go, now let's see'. And nobody ever got near him.
I've never had a better experience in a race, nothing comes close. I've won lots of nice races and ridden plenty of nice horses, but this is the King George, isn't it? And a very special one.
