Although the Listed Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase was reduced to two runners after More Than That was withdrawn on account of the ground, it was still a fascinating event in which the pride of Scotland, Seeyouatmidnight, put up as good a performance of jumping as you could wish to see to outpoint Bristol De Mai.

Results and analysis

Setting out to make the running, Seeyouatmidnight was never headed. He gained lengths at several fences and although his rival, who was sent off at 2-5, loomed up looking full of running going to the third-last, where the two came close together, it was virtually game over at the next when Brian Hughes asked for more on Sandy Thomson's stable star.
