Mike Murphy found a belated Christmas present under the tree at Wolverhampton in the shape of a £27,000 prize and duly unwrapped it with Yaa Mous.

The mile fillies' handicap was the feature on the eight-race card but certainly did not look the strongest Class 2 ever run.

5lb claimer Theodore Ladd enjoyed the victory on the progressive three-year-old after picking up a chance spare ride when standing in for the absent Ray Dawson.
