It's a unanimous verdict - Tahiyra the star of the show at a soaked Curragh

Where does one start? The weather, I suppose. It was rotten, although the relentless morning rain did ease off a little as the day wore on meaning we could properly enjoy the action that was unfolding in front of us. And there was no shortage of stuff to enjoy.

Fair play to the 6,742 of you who showed up. It was the sort of morning that when you pulled back the curtains and saw what was happening outside your window the only sane course of action was to hop back into bed. Plenty probably did just that and the Curragh's CEO Brian Kavanagh knew only too well that the crowd was badly hit by circumstances beyond his control.

"I'm around long enough to take these things on the chin," smiled a soaked Kavanagh as he summed up the day following the 16th and final race of the ninth Irish Champions Weekend in which Johnny Murtagh was responsible for the 1-2-3.
