Intimate Moment puts herself in the shop window with stylish Yarmouth success

Despite a few flicks of the tail when jockey Rob Hornby used the whip, Intimate Moment blitzed her rivals to provide a 33-1 surprise in the 5f novice at Yarmouth.

The juvenile filly had shown speed on debut at Newbury last month over six furlongs, and the drop back in trip really suited as she blasted home by three lengths.

Those with long memories might have got involved at the big prices, as trainer Philip McBride used the same Newbury race to launch the career of Blue Maiden in 2009. The filly went on to finish second in the Sweet Solera, Nell Gwyn and Sandringham Handicap during her career.
