'Incredibly good-looking' In Rem lands four-timer for Jane Williams
Friday: Warwick
Jane Williams will be hoping she can usher in 2022 with a Graded victory when Gladiateur Allen heads to Cheltenham on New Year's Day, but she bid goodbye to 2021 in perfect style as In Rem completed a remarkable four-timer in the 3m2f handicap hurdle.
The trainer has a unique relationship with the six-year-old and rides him out regularly having previously bought him as a yearling and assisted with his first run when officially trained by Nick Williams.
After a stint with Gary Moore, In Rem returned to her care in mid-October and has since risen 28lb in the handicap in three successes – and this fourth win under son Chester came on heavier ground and over a longer trip.
"I liked him a lot [when I bought him], I thought I'd bought a smart horse," said the trainer.
"He was very green and backward and wanted time – he's incredibly good-looking.
"It's not the first time we've had a four-timer, Erick Le Rouge did it, and it was a gutsy performance today. He's turned into the horse I always thought he could be."
More multiple winners
Elsewhere on the card, Love Envoi made it three wins from three runs under rules in the mares' novice hurdle, while Grand Turina recorded her second success of the month under 10lb claimer Ned Fox in the veterans' handicap chase.
The Nicky Henderson-trained Neil The Legend won the 2m4f handicap chase in flawless style, making all for a 15-length victory under Nico de Boinville.
