Inchcolm inches out Purple Harry to secure Davidson double

With four winners from five runners, Tristan Davidson's horses are clearly in rude health and Inchcolm helped complete a double for the trainer as he repelled the challenge of Purple Harry in the 2m7½f handicap chase.

Ridden by Harry Reed, who was also recording a second victory of the day, the nine-year-old showed great tenacity to triumph for the fifth time since November in a golden period for the yard.

Davidson said: "He's been a fantastic horse for us. I thought the handicapper might just have his measure before today but he's just pulled out a bit more."
