In-form Vivant earns vacation after racking up hat-trick for Tom Lacey

At a time when most jumpers are returning to the fold, Vivant earned a well-deserved holiday after registering a hat-trick with an impressive weight-carrying performance in the 2m4f handicap hurdle.

Shouldering 12st 5lb minus amateur Tommie O'Brien's 5lb claim, the mare followed up victories at Fontwell and Worcester with a gusty success for trainer Tom Lacey, who was keen to strike while the iron was hot.

"She was going up 10lb for her win at Fontwell, so she's never going to get an opportunity like that again," said the trainer. "She has to have her conditions – she wants top of the ground – and it was very pleasing to see her win again."
