Punters who joined in the successful plunge on Roser Moter in the 1m4f handicap had the enterprising tactics of in-form rider Charles Bishop to thank for their winnings.

Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge was well supported from a morning price of 9-1 into 11-4 joint-favourite on course and duly delivered as she came home three lengths clear of Onefootinfront.

But that tells only part of the story as Bishop was not happy with the early gallop and stealthily moved his mount up with the pace after a mile, before leading three furlongs out and maintaining the momentum to the line.
