Tom Queally had an eventful first Sunday of July. Having flown from Newmarket for two rides, he won the mile handicap on Beautiful Stranger and was on a teatime flight from Glasgow to Stansted to attend the christening of Micky Fenton's daughter Clara.

"I'm the baby's godfather and hopefully it won't be too late when I get back," Queally said. "Micky did plenty flying up and down to the likes of Ayr during his own career so he totally understands the situation."

Beautiful Stranger is trained by Keith Dalgleish, who said: "They went quick and that suited him as he was dragged into it at the finish.
