What a difference 24 hours make. The horrendous wind and rain of Monday evening was replaced with unbroken and glorious sunshine for the final chapter of Killarney's May festival, and in-form trainer Willie McCreery was happy to see the absence of any overnight rain for the Renzo Forni-owned-and-bred Bumbasina in the median auction fillies' race.

The daughter of Canford Cliffs scored nicely from odds-on favourite Angel Island in what may turn out to be an above-average race dominated by two fillies who might well mix it in stakes company before the year is out.

"She's lazy but she keeps trying and Billy [Lee] gave her a lovely ride – we had a plan to track the pacemaker and it worked out well," said McCreery, who went on to lavish praise on the Killarney groundstaff for the condition of the track.
