Joseph O'Brien has not been shy about throwing plenty of youthful and useful ammunition at Dundalk maidens and rated races over the past couple of winters.

The progressive Messidor is another in that bracket, and her fourth start was her most impressive as she bolted up in the feature two-year-old auction race.

Under Declan McDonogh, the daughter of Group 1-winning miler Vadamos quickened well inside the final furlong to ease clear of favourite Hale Bopp for a two-and-three-quarter length success with the promise of more to come.
