If you hang around, you'll see some quality in the last. That was the word before racing at Thurles on Thursday. Mind you, the horse they were talking about in the bumper was Gordon Elliott's track newcomer The Big Lense, but after he trailed in sixth of the ten runners, the only horse to talk about was the really impressive winner Daly Tiger.

His trainer Noel Meade said he didn't know how good he was as nothing at home had taken him off the bridle. And the good news after this is still nothing has taken him off the bridle.

The son of Tiger Groom simply sauntered through the race under Nina Carberry, taking it up from the hard-ridden newcomer Uisce Beatha halfway up the straight and easing clear to win by four lengths.
