'I’ll take that!' - dead-heat delivers a double in the same race for Burke

Keiran Burke enjoyed the unlikeliest of doubles when a dead-heat was declared between his two runners in the 2m5½f mares' novice handicap hurdle.

Gavin Sheehan looked to have the race in safe keeping aboard The Height Of Fame until making a mistake at the last and affording his Harry Kimber-ridden stablemate Maroochi the chance to get on terms.

The stewards were unable to separate the pair, who flashed past the post together, and Burke put it simply to Sky Sports Racing, commenting: "I’ll take that!"

Emma Lavelle’s 49er

Hang In There made it four wins in a row when obliterating the field to triumph by 49 lengths in the 2m5f n.

The Emma Lavelle-trained eight-year-old made every yard of the running under Tom Bellamy, jumping fluently throughout to leave the Paul Nicholls-trained Hell Red trailing in second.

"That’s his fourth win in a row now," Lavelle said. "It’s absolutely grand, he’s just such a lovely horse to be involved with. He’s a great jumper and he loves his racing."

Hang In There’s rich vein of summer form has allowed Lavelle to contemplate loftier targets, with a step into Graded company likely to be next.

"He’s a decent horse, he just wants nice ground, he’s probably better than what you’d describe as a summer jumper," Lavelle added.

"He’s had a straightforward summer winning these novice chases and more than earned the right to have a crack at a better quality race round a proper jumping track. I'd say we’ll look at the Rising Stars at Wincanton [November 5] as his target race."
