'I was amazed at how well he was going' - Twiston-Davies team unearth smart type
Thursday: Worcester
Owners Anne-Marie and Jamie Shepperd enjoyed big-race success with I Like To Move It and Undersupervision for the Nigel Twiston-Davies team last season and there could be more of the same on the horizon with Idalko Bihoue.
The point-to-point winner made a deep impression on his debut under rules in the second division of the 2m4f maiden hurdle, travelling strongly and jumping cleanly on the way to a 14-length success.
His rider Sam Twiston-Davies told Sky Sports Racing: "That felt quite good. His homework is fine, he doesn't stand out and isn't flashy, but I literally sat everywhere I wanted to and everything was smooth.
"God knows where he came up from three out, I was amazed how well he was going. Hopefully he's a smart one."
There was drama in the first division of the race when Thruthelookinglass jinked and dramatically unseated Ciaran Gethings when challenging for the lead at the final hurdle.
The well-backed I'd Like To Know was left to record a convincing win. Gethings, who walked away from the fall, will undergo further x-rays on Friday, with the injury suspected to be superficial.
Scudamore treble
Tom Scudamore is one of the most experienced jockeys in the weighing room and advertised his skills with a 550-1 treble.
The rider was successful for three different trainers, with wins on Miss Jeanne Moon, Sidi Ismael and Branston Missouri.
