'I thought she'd do that' - Jeremys Flame 8-1 for Mares' Chase after easy win

Jeremys Flame was made as short as 8-1 for the Mares' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival after a successful raid from Ireland, one which handed Gavin Cromwell and Keith Donoghue a winner with their first runner at the track.

The nine-year-old was making her first visit to Britain since her novice hurdle days, when she chased home Fiddlerontheroof in the 2020 Tolworth Hurdle, and she had been tested at the top level last time too but proved no match for Blue Lord at Leopardstown over Christmas.

Against her own sex her class prevailed, as she stormed clear of 6-5 favourite Zambella to win the Pertemps Lady Protectress Mares' Chase, which followed victories at Galway and Naas earlier in the season.
