Bagging the right spot was vital on Great British Picnic Day and not just in the family enclosure, as James Doyle showed when finding the the best ground on the stands' rail to register a treble.

Racegoers needed plenty of stamina to go with their sandwiches between showers, and To Eternity certainly got the trip when kicking off the Doyle haul in the Listed Chalice Stakes.

Doyle elected to become anti-social on the daughter of Galileo in the straight when sticking to the stands' rail, rather than leading the 13-strong crowd up the middle, but it paid off in spades with a six-length romp.
