Horroob a cut above the usual all-weather handicap winner

Horroob confirmed himself a colt to keep on the right side of when winning what looked one of the hottest three-year-old handicaps run on Lingfield's all weather track in a long while.

The winning margin over Sea Shack was just a neck but the Roger Varian-trained colt carried top weight and had five fellow last-time-out winners further back.

Although he needed a couple of sharp smacks late on in order to make sure he always looked likely to justify favouritism, and it would be no surprise to see him at Royal Ascot next month in the Britannia Handicap.
