History made as North America becomes first to complete Al Maktoum Challenge

North America made history when winning the feature Group 2 Al Maktoum Challenge R2 over 1m1½f on the Meydan dirt by becoming the first horse to have won all three legs of the challenge created in 1994.

Victorious in the third round on Super Saturday last year, over the same mile and a quarter as the Dubai World Cup, he was the easy winner of the first round, over a mile, four weeks ago.

As on that occasion, he broke quickly and was soon in front under Richard Mullen, who never looked worried at any stage and none of his five rivals ever threatened Satish Seemar’s stable star.
