Hint Of Mint gets off the mark for Fry under strong Fehily ride

Although the handicapper raised Hint Of Mint for getting beaten last time, the seven-year-old prospered from a power-packed Noel Fehily ride to get the better of Man Of Plenty in the feature handicap hurdle.

After Fehily had delivered the well-backed 8-11 favourite home by a neck, Fry sighed: "Just as well the handicapper didn’t put him up by 6lb for finishing second or we would not have won and I thought the 5lb he did go up by was actually quite harsh.

"But the main thing is the horse has won and I could not be more pleased for his owners Sandie and David Newton, who sent him to me this year. This is his third win at Taunton so the chances are we will be back here in the New Year."
