High praise for work rider Gianluca Sanna as Hidden Message lands Listed honours

Apprentice Gianluca Sanna is a name to note if Hidden Message's success as the 9-4 favourite in the Listed Coral Distaff is anything to go by.

The 22-year-old did not train the filly, William Haggas did. And he did not ride her, Oisin Murphy filled that role. But he led her up and, more importantly, rides her every day at home. His impact has been such that both Murphy, and Haggas's wife Maureen, credited Sanna's role in the filly's development.

"She's a credit to her trainer and his staff. The boy at her head is a young apprentice with clearly great hands, he's done a super job with that filly," said Murphy. "She's gone from being very difficult to extremely uncomplicated."
